Suite Indigo is a compilation of nine songs related through a common theme, inspired by HP Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos stories and based on several unpublished stories. In the narrative, the followers of the imprisoned extraterrestrial godling Cthulhu plot to take over the surface world, that aim eased by the progress of global warming and the rising waters.
Legend has it that Cthulhu will revive and once again walk the Earth "when the stars are right". While nobody knows exactly what that means, his followers make the attempt to revive him periodically. As the narrative begins, another attempt is underway. Cthulhu is telepathic and communicates through dreams as he is himself sleeping. The narrative opens with a nameless narrator experiencing such a dream communication, during a Nightmare in Blue. The second piece, Bats in the Belfry, has him questioning his sanity as he awakens and remembers reading stories detailing such things. He falls back to sleep as the third piece, Specters, begins, and sinks deeper into unconsciousness as the song continues, until, with the fourth song, the Black Room, he is not sure whether he is awake or asleep. The fifth song, Wings at the Window, takes a broader approach as some of Cthulhu's followers and minions begin to understand that this revival will be successful and start to come out from hiding.
The sixth song, Cyanosis, focuses back on the original protagonist, who is suffocating in the heat and humidity generated by the rising of the undersea kingdom R'Lyeh, which results in titanic tidal waves and vulcanism. Dark Carnival, the seventh song, shows that Cthulhu's creatures have continued their hostile takeover, and the next piece, Aquapocalypse, is the coming of armageddon.
The ninth and final song, Shoggoth Dance, has the invasion finalized, and the invaders frolicking amid the ruins of human society.

This version of the song cycle is instrumental only...
